Whatcom county has
accepted an application for a conditional use approval to install a 50,000 watt
150 foot tall five-tower AM radio array.
Being a property owner within a
thousand feet of the development, this affects me deeply. I read a story
about someone living near an AM radio station and I didn't like what he had to
say:
Chronic insomnia, headaches, dizziness, nausea,
failing memory… irregular
heartbeats. I read more and it got
worse. I decided to look at
a book on the topic of zoning for radio stations that talks about how the
industry rail-roads through the application process.
After looking at that data
and reviewing the actual application with local zoning laws, I came up with
several pages of objections as presented in the following posts.
My suggestion, read through
these posts, pick the arguments that you agree with, come up with your own,
share them with your neighbors and friends, and send them all to Whatcom County
Planning. This affects ALL of Point
Roberts and ALL of
Tsawwassen -
negatively impacting both communities in numerous ways described in these
comments regarding the radio tower proposal.
Tell five friends and neighbors – Tell them to tell five friends,
etc.
We have a real chance to
shut this down NOW before the process goes any further. All written comments must be received
